Tattoo Coverup
Process
Initial Consultation
We start with a consultation to understand your existing tattoo cover-up goals. We’ll discuss style, size, and any specific elements you want. Reference images or sketches are welcome.
Evaluation of the Existing Tattoo
Our artist will evaluate the tattoo’s colors, size, and placement to plan the cover-up. Some tattoos may need multiple ink layers or a larger design. We’ll discuss if fading or lightening is necessary before the cover-up.
Custom Design Creation
Using your input and the existing tattoo’s layout, our artist will create a custom design. This design will mask the old tattoo while transforming it into something new. We’ll ensure the design complements your body’s shape and style..
Design Approval & Adjustments
Once the design is ready, we’ll present it for feedback. We’ll make any adjustments needed to meet your expectations before moving forward.
Tattoo Session
Tattoo coverup require more time and precision than typical tattoos. Depending on the design’s complexity, the session may last hours or multiple sessions. We’ll blend the new design with the old using shading, color, and placement for a seamless result.
Aftercare Instructions
After a tattoo coverup, it’s crucial to follow proper aftercare to ensure the new design heals well. Gently wash the tattoo with mild soap and lukewarm water, then apply a thin layer of fragrance-free healing ointment. Avoid direct sun exposure, swimming, and excessive sweating. Do not pick or scratch the tattoo, as this can damage the design. Wear loose, breathable clothing to prevent friction. Keep the area moisturized and follow your tattoo artist’s specific aftercare instructions for the best results.
Touch-Up Sessions
AAfter your tattoo has healed, we may schedule a follow-up for any touch-ups. This ensures the cover-up design stays vibrant, with no traces of the old tattoo visible.
